Two Lessons learned…
So, while David is out of town, I am trying to keep the kids quite active so that they drive me crazy less!!! =o)
So, I took the kids to our favorite park, which I like because of the ground, but the layout is difficult to see everything all at once and when you have two kids who go opposite directions, it makes me nervous….(yes! I am paranoid that some stranger is going to walk off with my kid when I cannot see them)
But I ventured off with the kids on my own.
As I got out of the car, I thought, “Take the camera or leave it in the car?” I thought, with all the watching of the kids, I wouldn’t have time to take any photos” But…being a photographer, I grabbed it and stuck it in my back pocket. (Point and Shoot)
The kids played and had fun, I just had to do minor corralling, to try to keep them playing in close enough proximity that I could see them both at the same time.
Now, for the first lesson….we hadn’t been there very often and the kids said they were hot and through my sunglasses I could see they were getting sunburnt! SUNBURNT? It’s mid-April at 4PM…just because of the month, doesn’t mean it’s not hot and the kids don’t need sunscreen…SO…lesson #1, keep sunscreen in the car, so I can keep my poor kids from getting burnt. (Bad mom moment…)
Towards the end of the time we were there, I wanted the kids to swing in hopes it would cool them off. If anyone has know Araya since she was born knows she’s afraid of heights. I thought we were over it, but lately she’s gotten scared again. She doesn’t like to swing, climb the climbing walls, etc.
She wants to sit on my lap while I swing, so I tried to get her to try other things with the swings in hopes of getting her more used to them again. (She was swinging a lot there for awhile, but now she just says, “Those swings are Scary”!)
So in the midst of playing with the swings, all of a sudden the kids realized they could “FLY!”
I love the shadow in this one!
And here is my little girl trying to be as BRAVE as she can!!! (So she can “fly” like Brother)
Look at her feet up!!!
And there is the Truth…look at her face! She’s scared but is being so brave!
These last 3 are my favorite!!!
Ezra is by far the hardest to get a photo of! He looks away on purpose, but look at his face here!
The sun went behind a cloud and Araya looked up to see what happened! HOW PRECIOUS is she?
And finally….here’s my little Superman in action!!!
LESSON LEARNED…ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS TAKE A CAMERA…even if it’s just a point and shoot! =o)

Those pics were great! I bet you are loving the park more and more as the kids get older and you can sit back a little bit. Of course, we always have to be close by, but I love that I can take a seat on a bench once in a while too.
Shannon, I love to see your kids!! You take amazing photos even with the point and shoot...you put me to shame. Guess that's why your the professional ;) Thanks for keeping up on your blog so we can stay up on your family!! Miss you!!
