Deceptive Cookies - (d2)

SRP_4109
Sugar Cookies with baby yellow frosting? Don’t they look yummy?

Well, they’re not!
For those of you who REALLY know me, you know that I am an EXCELLENT cook – I love to cook and it most always tastes excellent!
BAKING on the other hand….I am NOT so good at! These cookies were made with whole wheat flour…and umm…ick!
And I don’t know what happened but even the frosting is icky!  The only thing good about them is that they are SOFT! =o)
The kids like them though which is good, because for some reason whenever I make cookies, it makes like 4 dozen!

Who needs that many cookies!? Especially when they’re NOT Lofthouse Cookies! =o)

FIRST Day of Tuesday School

Today the kids started Tuesday School. They go once a week (on Tuesdays) from 9-11:30AM. It’s just like school, just one day! =o) It’s a really good practice run for pre-school, and pre-school is a good practice run for kindergarten, so we’re on our way to how many more years of school?

Sometimes the sequence of the photos cracks me up more than the quality of the photos themselves!

All in all, a good morning. I don’t get super emotional about Tuesday School – it’s just one day a week for 2 1/2 hours. Even when Ezra starts Pre-school on Friday for 3 days a week in the mornings….It’s Kindergarten and 1st Grade I’m dreading! =o)

365 Day Challenge – Launch & Day1 (D1)

So, this last April when I was in Atlanta I had the privilege of meeting and becoming friends with Tasra Dawson. She was in the middle of a 365 Day Photo Challenge, and I have decided to join in.
She has since finished her challenge, but it seems like it has SO affected her life in a positive way,
I am planning on taking this challenge on myself.
I’d love to become a better photographer and this day by day challenge will definitely help me or so I hear from Tasra! =o)

Here are the Rules: (From Tasra’s Site)

The actions:
- Take at least 1 photo every day.
- Read at least 1 page in my camera manual every day.
- View other professional images every day.

So…here goes! This is Day 1 (D1) and this is a shot I took today as the kids went to their first day of Preschool.

Why I Don’t Blog & Why I miss it…

So…if you’re one of the handful of people who actually know that I HAVE a blog, you know I haven’t posted anything in quite some time.

And here are some reason’s why….

- I sort of have a really sarcastic personality…and a lot of my thoughts running around in my head, that I might actually write about may come off as negative or complaining….and really? Who wants to listen to someone complain right?

- As a photographer I feel like I need to post a photo with a blog post….but that means work….and well you know….I’m REALLY busy with work right now!

- As a MOTHER of two beautiful babies, who is also a photographer, I feel like I NEED to post photos up of my kids. Well, I literally have about 5000 photos since I last posted any new photos of my kids….where do I begin?

- My life is not perfect….I’m not sure how to write about that. (besides, my MOM reads my blog occasionally, and I don’t want her thinking I don’t have it altogether!)

- Sometimes I just don’t know WHAT to write about…that won’t bore you to death!

- I really feel like I don’t have time for it.

THINGS I MISS ABOUT BLOGGING:

- I have no outlet to just write my thoughts and feelings
- I have no where to ‘brag about my kids’ and show how beautiful they are!
- My life is not perfect – but I’m guessing, neither is yours (except maybe that military mom friend of mine in NC…I mean SHE has it all –right?) =o) and maybe you can learn from my mistakes.
- I want to make time for it, if I only had something to write! =o)

Here’s to….trying to blog again…for me…who cares if anyone else is reading – right!? =o)

And here’s my token photo…cause you HAVE to have a photo right?

I’m EcSTATIC!!!!

So, I’ve found out in the last 5 and a half years living in our house that I SO love flowers and a beautiful garden…but I am no GREEN thumb!

I think I enjoy it enough to put some work into it, but when it doesn’t go right, or needs a lot of extra TLC….certain plants don’t thrive – or survive.

I have BEUTIFUL hydrangeas that are the envy of my neighbors (I’ll post some pics when they start blooming….they are SOO gorgeous an

d make my heart sing when I see them) I do truly love Hydrangeas, but they are only my second favorite garden flower. My first is the Columbine….I LOVE LOVE LOVE Columbines! They are so unique and intricate, and I love the colors….blah blah blah, I could go on! LOVE THEM!

I have wasted a lot of money trying to get them to grow in my garden. I’ve bought seeds and started them in a greenhouse, then planted them all, I’ve bought already rooted plants, planted them all, and just bought plain old seeds and planted them all….and they all have died!!!
But the other day, when we came home from church OH MY WORD!!! a little tiny Columbine was starting to bloom!!!!

Here it is today…..

I love it! This came from a seed I planted LAST summer or Fall, and isn’t it beautiful??? I love it! It makes me so happy!

(We’ll not discuss the other 30 seeds that did not bloom!)
